A Loving Life – I Corinthians 13 Summer Sermon Series 2014 by Pastor Brock Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:4b "Love does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud." Sunday was an amazing day at Pekin First. God's presence was so real in the music, the prayers, the message and in the Children's Crusade Sunday night. Great job Church! Here are some thoughts related to the message Sunday morning. How are you doing in practicing this Loving Life that God intends for you? The Word declares that "love does not envy!" When you see God being kind, good, gracious to others, learn to enjoy it rather than resent it. You need to be happy when God is blessing somebody else. This does not come naturally. You have to learn it. You have to learn to rejoice in other people’s blessing. When God has been good to others, you need to learn to enjoy watching God do that to them. That’s your choice. Envy is a choice. I can choose to rejoice, or I can choose to resent. Those are the options. The good news is if you learn to rejoice at God’s goodness to others, you’ll have a lot more to be happy about. And, God's blessing to others in no way diminishes God's blessing in my life. Let God’s Spirit in you teach you how to be the loving person you are created to be and to live out the “LOVING LIFE” that you were made to live!
